PHILOSOPHY
& OBJECTIVES:
The philosophy of Academia San José Elementary School considers as its first priority the moral, intellectual, social, personal and physical formation of the student, taking into consideration one’s culture, environment, individual abilities and individual needs.
Dedicated to the dissemination of Faith, the school offers an integral Catholic education in which Christian and moral values are emphasized, mainly through teacher-child interaction, and within a school environment which provides a nurturing climate for the children’s development. Essential to the Christian faith is the expression of love and service from which follows a commitment of our educational and administrative staff to observe ethical and moral values in themselves. It is an established psychological and pedagogical principal that children learn first by imitation. Thus the example set forth by our faculty and staff is of primary importance in the teaching-learning environment of Academia San José Elementary School.
The school, by virtue of its commitment to Christian Faith, aims to educate the whole person, bringing out the best of each child’s potential in spiritual, physical, emotional, mental and academic development. It acknowledges the complex nature of today’s education, the many contradictions within society, and the constant demands made on schooling in regard to the intellectual and moral development of children.
The faculty and staff of Academia San José Elementary School has one goal: to live its school philosophy and fulfill its objectives. Working together as a professional team, they strive to create an atmosphere of love, sharing, trust and respect among themselves and the students, so as to prepare them to become authentic Christians in a constantly changing world. |
